We warranty our seedlings, trees and shrubs to be true to name and to be healthy at the time of pickup or shipping. Concerns must be expressed at the time of receipt. Our total liability is limited to the purchase price of the seedlings only.

Size: 45+ cm

Appearance: Silver-blue to dull green needles, short, stiff and sharp. Pyrimidal form with horizontal branches.

Site and soils: Well-drained clay or clay-loam soils; tolerant of sandy soils provided adequate moisture levels. Will tolerate short drought periods, but not flooding. Prefers full sun; will grow more slowly in part shade. Does not perform well in unprotected sites.

Rural plantings: Inside row of multi-row shelterbelts, farmyards, wildlife cover (thermal and food).

Urban settings: Ornamental specimen or groupings.

Native to: Rocky Mountains, United States

All our plants are grown from local seed sources on our nursery in Kemptville.

Bareroot seedling stock ranges in size from 15cm to 1m in height, stock may be sorted and sold by size depending on species and stock development. The minimum grading size is identified in the description.

We do on occasion purchase seed from other areas for purpose grown trees such as Balsam and Fraser Fir for Christmas trees where no local seed sources are available.

Our plants are suitable and hardy for planting in areas throughout Eastern and Central Ontario from Toronto or North Bay eastward as well as southwestern Quebec. Our plants are hardy for other locations but optimal growth may not be met, for advice on moving stock to other locations please contact the nursery office.

Billing and Shipping Information



Invoicing for the 2020 season will begin LATE FALL OF 2019.

Products ordered for Spring pick up

  • 25% deposit due upon invoicing
  • Final balance due by March 15th

Please do not send payment in until you have received an invoice from us. Invoicing will start in late fall once we have completed our inventory.

Payment Schedule Information


Oversized Value-Added Bareroot Stock cannot be shipped. This product is to be picked up at the nursery.

Prebooked pickups will take place on appointed days. This is to ensure minimal time between lifting the trees from the field and planting by the customer.
